Orientation and Philosophy
Mary’s therapeutic orientation is humanistic and existential. Mary works with emotion, immediate experience, educational, skills, and with each client’s values and strengths.
“I believe therapy can be both life-enhancing and at times fun. I work in-depth with each person, family, and couple in the change process with the understanding that we are all unique, we change according to our most important values and dreams, and we each change in our own way. I use humor in the context of understanding our often painful and ultimately human concerns, and I find ways to walk in each person’s shoes to deepen my understanding of the thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and feelings that move each of us through our lives and motivate us toward healing.”
